3.1.11.5. Triangular TimeSeries
This command is used to construct a TimeSeries object in which the load factor is some triangular function of the time in the domain.
Fig. 3.1.11.4 Triangle Time Series
- timeSeries Triangle $tag $tStart $tEnd $period <-shift $shift> <-factor $cFactor>

Argument |
Type |
Description |
|---|---|---|
$tag |
integer |
unique tag among TimeSeries objects |
$tStart |
float |
starting time of non-zero load factor |
$tEnd |
float |
ending time of non-zero load factor |
$period |
float |
characteristic period of triangular wave |
$shift |
float |
phase shift in seconds (optional: default = 0.0) |
$cFactor |
float |
the load amplification factor (optional: default = 1.0) |
Example:
The following code demonstrates how user would create a trigonemtric time series with a tag of 1, has a start time of 0.0, an end time of 10.0, a period of 1.0, and a max load factor of 2.0.
Tcl Code
timeSeries Triangle 1 0.0 10.0 1.0 -factor 2.0
Python Code
timSeries('Triangle', 1, 0.0, 10.0, 1.0, '-factor', 2.0)
